The Ait Bougmez Valley, otherwise known as the Happy Valley, is the land of the
indigenous Berber tribes and home to Morocco's second tallest peak, Mount M’Goun.
Mount M’Goun stands at over 4070m, located on the edge of the High Atlas
Mountains, around 210 km east of Marrakech. The valley of Ait Bougmez stretches
over 30 km long with many charming villages, offering a true authentic Moroccan
experience.

Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech
Arrive in Marrakech, Morocco’s famous Red City. Look for the WE GRAVEL
MOROCCO sign at Menara Airport for your transfer to the hotel. Feel free to explore
Marrakech before your welcome meeting, but make sure to be back in time to meet
your guide, who will review the tour details.

Day 2: Marrakech to Bougmaz Valley & Ouzoud Waterfall
After breakfast, drive to Bougmaz Valley (5.5H drive), visiting Azilal town and the
beautiful Ouzoud Waterfall. Upon arrival in the Happy Valley, meet with porters and
their mules, then go for a one-hour hike to reach your accommodation.

Day 3: Across to Ait Imi Village and the Shrine of Sidi Mossa
After breakfast, set off for a 4 to 5-hour hike passing through the center of the valley.
Visit the shrine of Sidi Mossa, a building divided into small rooms where local families
store their grain. In the afternoon, hike up the valley, village by village until reaching
your guesthouse in Ait Imi village.

Day 4: Ait Imi Village to Zaouit n Oulmzi
Today’s journey passes through the village of Ibakaliwn. Stop to visit the footsteps of
dinosaurs preserved in the rocks for over 10,000 years. Proceed to Adazen for a
spectacular view of the valley. After lunch, descend to the village of Zaouit n Oulmzi
for an overnight stay.

Day 5: Zaouit n Oulmzi to Ikhf n Ighir
After breakfast, walk down along the green and wide valley of Ait Hkim, across
several typical villages. Stop for lunch under the famous walnut trees, then continue
to the village of Ikhf n Ighir for dinner and overnight.

Our last gentle hike in the valley takes us across the villages of Ait Ziri, Aguerd n

Valley. During the day, meet local farmers and women washing clothes in the river,
interact with locals, and admire the valley’s natural eco-diversity.
